Output Options

The AFP drivers differ from normal printer drivers in that the output is Advanced Function Presentation Data Stream (AFPDS) instead of the more usual Printer Control Language (PCL), Personal Printer Data Stream (PPDS), PostScript, and others. You “print” to the AFP Printer to obtain the output in an AFP file just the same way as you normally print from any Windows application to an Inkjet or Laserjet printer.

There are a variety of output options, among which the most important options are paper size and page orientation.

Paper size specifies which type of media your document is printed on, for example, print each your Microsoft Word document page to an A4 size paper represented in an AFP document.

Page orientation describes the layout of your document, portrait or landscape or even complex.
